What your perfume says about you.

Actually, this is more like What does my perfume say about me? I don’t really care about other people’s perfume. Unless it smells amazing.

When I was younger, I had a habit of wearing sickly sweet-smelling perfumes. Stuff that smelled like cotton candy meets bakery. Yeah, I was that girl. Now, I have this bizarre attraction to “old lady” perfumes, but I get an insane amount of compliments, so I suppose it’s not that bad? My perfume of choice as of late is an old Balmain scent that was released in the late 1960s, mixed with a little bit of a few other perfumes that are more contemporary & “sweet” smelling. Below are comments about the main perfume I wear. I was going to include the comments about the other scents, too, but they all said the same thing: sweet, young, floral, etc. The reviews about the Balmain scent, however, are quite entertaining, considering I am still rather young to be included in the target demographic for this particular fragrance.

  • Money. Lots of it, and it’s old money. And life is carefree, life is filled with fun. I walk into any room and my elan captures the eyes, ears and adulation of everyone.
  • Sydney. Hot nights. The late 60’/early 70’s. Glamorous, false eyelashed and micro skirted, liberated girls. And nightclubs where everyone smoked, and drank black russians, and everything was new and reborn, because this was the new age and we were it’s people. And this was our smell….
  • Vibrant, earthy, gentle sweet. It reeks of luscious, but refined femaleness.
  • as fierce as nature herself….like the calm before a storm in a tall, silent forest.
  • If old money had a smell… It reminds me of gold heirlooms, the silver buckles on a buttery leather harness, expanses of sweet manicured woods surrounding the estate.
  • demands that the wearer be upkept, arrogant, elegant, and ballsy.
  • one of my great favorites, perfect for an evening of theater, a lunch in a fun cafe or an elegant party. Versatile with its big bouquet and leather chypre underpinnings, I can see this one going just about anyplace with elan.
  • woman coming through get out of the way perfume

Haha all of these statements are hilarious! BTW I pulled all of these comments from fragrantica.com
